Team Start-Up and Showcase CirQlight

The challenge

An idea from a Bachelor course was further developed to a start-up. What if bicycle lights were offered as a service so that they would never have to be thrown away? As oftentimes, only 10% of the product does not work anymore, why throw it away? Simply because many people do not want to repair it. Inspired by the deposit system of beverages, CirQlight emerged. The opportunity arose to get 5000 euros funding by Design United to create a start-up and prototype. We were joining several innovation and sustainable design challenges and were interviewed by Radio 1. After talking to possible investors, we decided to leave the project as a showcase for circular economy based design.

My role and impact
My main responsibilities within this project were: project planning, finances, electronics / arduino, and prototyping. Also helped in creating the brand and visuals.
